I know what you are thinking. "What the hell is a smeddling kiss?"

When I was trying to come up with a unique name for this blog, I tried to think up something original, yet personal. All the good names were already taken, and the more blogs I read, the more I ran across that featured some combination of the words I would be most likely to use as well. Words like "mommy," "crafty," "geeky," and "dooce." (What?! I could use the traffic, people!)

Flash back to when Pepper was a precocious toddler. When she was 2, life was all skittles and beer. No, wait - it was all "Blue's Clues" and "Thomas." As she approached 3, however, she was all done with those baby shows and became absolutely obsessed with Scooby Doo. It was Scooby Doo 24/7 around here. She even had it all planned out by March that we would dress up as the Scooby gang for Halloween that year, and she would not be swayed.

Each day, she wanted to watch "Scooby Doo" videos, and each night I would read her "Scooby Doo" stories. One night, as she was getting drowsy, she said, "Mommy? What's a smeddling kiss?" It took me a moment to realize that for months, she'd been hearing "a smeddling kiss" whenever a character would say "meddling kids." And then my heart exploded with the cuteness of it all, and I died.
