Remember when we were at
DEFCON 3: LICE LOCKDOWN? Yeah, well - do you happen to know about how long the lice life cycle takes? 7 to 10 days... and let's see, that post was written... hey! Waddya know? 10 days ago!
Pop quiz: What do you think I found in Pepper's hair yesterday afternoon? We were at
the performance, and the Poppies all hung out and played, and then it came time to go onstage, and they filed out and did their bit and sang their song, and then came back into the cafeteria for a little party. When she was taking off her costume in preparation for pizza, I noticed that her ponytail was falling out, and what do you think I found when I went to fix her hair?
Oh, yes. I did. LIVE ones, crawling on her head. I had to haul her out of there, poor kid - she missed the party and the moonbounce and the curtain call and the second performance of the day. Instead, she was sitting at home with goop on her head, or screaming in pain as I combed each strand of hair with a nit comb. And then I got to shampoo her brother, and myself, and strip all the bedding and soft stuff around the house.
Today is the first day we have nothing scheduled in weeks. Which is good, because I've got a full schedule of nit-picking lined up now. Yaargh.
Labels: family time, kids, nothing I'd rather do, out-of-control hair, school
I wish you all the best with your lice killing adventure.
Evil nasty bugs.
I feel so bad for you!
